VW Tiguan OA6 MQ500 Gearbox coded LMU [4×4 Vehicle]

This was out of 59 Plate Tiguan with 100k Miles on the clock, Hats of to VAG this time as the gearbox was serviceable, the most affected bearings were on the Lay Shaft – Primary Input, Like its smaller cousin & the 02Q gearbox, this OA6 had found its way to us due to excessive end float which was picked up during a clutch change.

Main dealer price for this gearbox is @ £4500 + vat excluding Fitting

We charged £900 + vat To repair this Gearbox .
A recon gearbox box would be in the Region of £1500 -£2000 + Vat excluding fitting

A word of warning regarding the transfer unit. There are none of the major bearings listed either by VW or our actual bearing suppliers, that does not mean you can’t buy them. But you really won’t find out what they are until one is taken apart. Dealers Have the transfer unit listed at £1600 + vat
